'Postcard From My Studio'

As part of Acme Studios’ 40th anniversary celebrations, all of its current tenants (of which I am one) were invited to complete a small work on an identical A5 postcard. Artists could use any medium and the aim was that, in some way, the work would reflect what their studio represented to them as individuals.
This was an opportunity to bring together contributions from artists testifying to the range of practitioners who collectively make such an extraordinary contribution to the visual arts today. With almost 300 artists responding, the exhibition provides a unique snapshot, at a specific moment in time, of artists working in Acme's studios. All of the works in the exhibition will become part of an expanding archive.
The resulting exhibition at the Acme Project Space, coincides with the display of archive material from Acme’s first decade at the Whitechapel Gallery from 7 September 2013 to 23 February 2014.
Visitors to the Acme Project Space are invited to tweet a picture of their favourite postcard @acmestudios #acmepostcard
